2008 Board Notes
* The Golf outing made $7,716!! Great job and thanks to the Golf Committee for
all their hard work.
- Profits distributed to: $5,000 towards the new Parkview Huntington YMCA
and $2716 going towards the Huntington Free Health Clinic.
* We received a $3000 district grant which will benefit the Free Health Clinic by
purchasing dental equipment.
* The board also approved $1000/year commitment to the YMCA for the next 5 years.
* District also approved our matching grant to provide a water tank in Mexico. The total grant will provide for tanks in
16 rural communities in Central Mexico.

The annual Huntington Rotary Club Strawberry Feed
was held on June 19, 2008 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Hier’s Park, Heritage
Hall was held on June 19, 2008 from 5:00-7:00 pm

Rotary
International
Project
In 2007-8,
the board donated
$3,000.00 toward Rotary International’s Water Tank Project in Mexico. Thanks to Ana
Luisa Boman for her August 14th presentation highlighting this worthwhile cause.
Last year we raised enough money for two tanks in Mexico with our money and a
matching grant from the district. A team is being compiled from our District to go and
set the tanks in two villages early in 2009. Anyone from our club can go to the dedication.
